Flowers
2nd Edition of the Glaze Painting Competition
Painting challenge inviting Glaze app users to create original works inspired by artistic heritage.
For painters of all skill levels, in 4 age categories
Inspired by History of Flowers still life painting
Submissions deadline: February 2027
Inspiration
Rooted in the Dutch tradition of flower still life, this year’s theme looks at a moment when flowers became both objects of study and desire. During Tulip Mania, bulbs were traded like gold, while artists refined their skill of close observation and scientists explored the natural world with growing curiosity. Petals, caterpillars, and small details became subjects of attention, carrying meaning about change and time. We invite participants to continue this tradition - looking closely, building skill, and interpreting nature in their own way. Participants are invited to create original works inspired by the theme of flowers and the tradition originated by the Dutch Golden Age still-life painters.
